BAH HUM PUG

JUST KIDDING.....Merry Christmas to all of my students.  Have a safe holiday, rest and enjoy your break because January semester comes faster than you know.  This break time is also a great time to prepare and get ahead so that the Spring semester coming up will go alot easier.  I know thats hard to comprehend.  Its been a long Fall Semester and yall want to just unplug.  Do that, but then try to find some time once you have recharged to get ahead.  You will be glad you did.  See ya next year.

CAN YOU REPEAT THAT?

Students, you are not alone.  I remember the days when I was in Math, Chem 101 & Chem 102 classes feeling just like this.  I had many classes I was tearing my hair out.  Trust me, one day you will look back at all this and laugh.  Well, maybe way way in the future.

STUDYING IS GOOD

BUT RELAXING IS ESSENTIAL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luRkeDCoxZ4

Students, take a day of Zen and put down the books, unplug your technology (except this - HAHA) and enjoy the gentle sounds of water and relaxing music.  Then get back to work refreshed.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Going to school as an adult can be as frightening as the first day we started kindergarden.  The little kid in us remembers the fear of the unknown as we entered the new classroom.  However, as time went on, we learned to enjoy our new experience.  Entering College can be just as tramatic as that first day of school.  We don't know where our classes are, we don't know anyone in the class, and we certainly don't understand at the moment what is taught in class.  We feel lost and uncomfortable, but remember it is in that uncomfortableness that we learn to grow.

GOOD LUCK NEW STUDENTS

THE ART OF PRE LEARNING A COLLEGE CLASS

Many of my students in the past years, before they came to me for tutoring, were discouraged because Math had been such a drudgery and they just could not seem to keep up with the pace of a college class.  They would not do well and would have to repeat the class.  Not only is that time consuming, depressing, but also expensive.  I always tell my students, if you are not in a hurry, please take the time to pre-learn or be pre-tutored the class BEFORE you sign up for it.  Being pre-tutored allows the student to absorb the material IN THEIR OWN TIME AT THEIR OWN SPEED.  They end up learning more and actually liking Math.  So if this is your vicious circle, consider pre-learning.  If you are reading this and you do not live in SC and cannot find a tutor in your area, see my links posted on this blog to my Bonanza store and Math Tutoring Website where you can access my Math Videos 24/7 or order hard copy Math DVDS.

2012 SPRING SEMESTER

Another New Year, another new semester, another new week.  It can seem like school never ends doesn't it but trust me, there is a light at the end of the lab corridor and you will get to graduation.  Just grab a cup of coffee or your favorite energy drink, your TI84 calculator and follow me to success.  Good luck all in 2012.
